In the "Bang Head Here" department...

"If U.S. troops pull out of Iraq too quickly, it will trigger the kind of violence seen after the American withdrawal in Vietnam, U.S. President George W. Bush said Wednesday."

""One unmistakable legacy of Vietnam is that the price of America's withdrawal was paid by millions of innocent citizens whose agonies would add to our vocabulary new terms like boat people, re-education camps and killing fields," Bush said in Kansas City."

This student of history has obviously not twigged to the notion that, like Iraq, getting involved in the first place was the error, not getting out, not to mention that conjuring up the spectre of another "Vietnam" isn't exactly comforting to people who already think that the US being in Iraq at all was one second too long.

Yeesh!

PS: I guess that
it will "the kind of violence seen after the American withdrawal in Vietnam" is worse than getting the crap bombed out of your country and having civilians shot and blown up on a daily basis by an invading force....
