Colonel By's mapThe Rideau Canal which stretches from Ottawa, on the Ottawa River, to Kingston, Ontario on the St. Lawrence River, has been given a World Heritage Site designation, today by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at its meeting in New Zealand.
